Automated and Intelligent Suggestions

Replenishment features help to simplify the process of restocking inventory by providing automated suggestions for when and how much to reorder.

  • Sorted by date: Clearly highlights items that need reordering, prioritized based on urgency.

  • Reorder Suggestions: Utilizes historical data to recommend reorder quantities in order to maintain optimal inventory levels.

  • Supplier parameters: Makes it possible to include variant lead time and minimum order quantity in the replenishment process.

Within the Plan screen, the Replenishment tab simplifies the process of restocking inventory by providing automated suggestions for when and how much to reorder. The suggestions are based on current stock levels, forecasted demand, and supply terms (such as variant lead time, and minimum order quantity).

Replenishment orders

Using your existing Purchase or Manufacturing orders, calculations are made based on demand when you are running out of stock. Katana then combines a prioritized list of items by order date and suggests the next orders to avoid any stockouts.

Replenishment table columns:

  • Item
Lists the unique identifiers (SKU or Stock Keeping Unit) followed by item name and variant.

  • Supplier
Displays the name of the supplier or the source from where the item is purchased or acquired.

  • Stockout date
Predicts when the inventory of an item is expected to run out. This prediction is based on current stock levels and sales velocity (or actual Sales amd Manufacturing orders).

  • Missing stock
Shows the anticipated stock level based on a future date, expressed in quantity (pcs, meters, etc.).

  • Suggested order qty
Based on the forecasted stock, this column suggests the quantity that should be ordered to prevent a stockout. Takes into account the minimum order quantity.

  • Purchase cost
The cost of purchasing a suggested order quantity from a supplier.

  • Suggested order by
Suggests a date by which the order should be placed with the supplier to avoid a stockout, ensuring efficient inventory management. Takes into account SKU based lead time.

  • Buy/Make
These buttons allow you to initiate a purchase order or a manufacturing order from this screen. Once you identify an item to replenish, you can create a new order for the item right here.
