Migrating to Katana's Amazon FBM integration

Switch your Amazon order flow from an Extensiv connector or Zapier workaround to Katana's Amazon FBM integration without losing or duplicating orders.

If Amazon orders currently reach Katana through an Extensiv connector or Zapier workaround, you can simplify things and switch to Katana's Amazon FBM integration.

This integration also covers what the workarounds can't: full Amazon order IDs without truncation, a real-time inventory push, and automatic tracking and delivery status write-back to Amazon.

Step 1: Set up the integration (don't activate yet)

  1. Connect Amazon FBM from the Integrations Marketplace and choose a fulfillment location.

    1. Your Katana items and variant codes stay exactly as they are - if your Amazon seller SKUs differ from Katana SKUs, add Amazon FBM aliases.

Alert! Leave the integration inactive until you've disabled the previous order feed from Amazon.

Step 2: Renavigate the order flow

Important: Don't run both order feeds simultaneously. If Extensiv (or a Zap) and the Katana integration both import the same Amazon order, you'll end up with duplicate sales orders in Katana.

  1. Try to choose a calm moment for the switch - outside your marketplace's peak ordering hours.

  2. Turn off the Amazon order flow:

    1. Extensiv - disable the Amazon order and inventory feeds in your Extensiv account. Extensiv connections are managed directly in Extensiv, not by Katana

    2. Zapier - turn off the Amazon Seller Central → Katana Zap

  3. Activate the Katana FBM integration with Activate sync.

Step 3: Verify the switch

  1. Watch the Sell screen > Sales orders tab > Open table.

    1. New orders should arrive tagged "Amazon FBM" with the full Amazon order ID.

  2. Cross-check Manage Orders in Amazon Seller Central for anything placed around the switchover window:

    1. An order placed during the gap between switching off the old feed and activating the native sync may be missing in Katana - add it manually if needed

    2. If both feeds briefly overlapped, look for duplicates. Native orders carry the full Amazon order ID; orders created by the old feed may look different (Extensiv truncates order numbers), which makes duplicates easy to spot

  3. Confirm your Amazon listing quantities update after a stock change in Katana - the native real-time push has now taken over inventory. Make sure the old tool's inventory upload stays off so the two don't fight over your listing quantities.

After migration

  • Historical orders created by the old feed remain in Katana. Nothing is changed retroactively

  • Fulfillment now flows back to Amazon automatically - no more manually marking orders as shipped in two places. See how to manage and fulfill Amazon FBM orders

  • Once you're confident everything flows correctly, you can disconnect the Amazon connection in Extensiv (or delete the Zap) entirely
