Whether adjusting a single order or multiple orders in bulk, changing the Location updates the availability statuses based on the selected location. Such changes are essential for businesses operating across multiple warehouses or sites, ensuring accurate inventory tracking and management.
When you've created multiple Locations in your Katana account, you can assign a sales order (SO) to one or more locations that have the Sell functionality enabled.
An SO will always check the inventory status for Sales items and Ingredients from its Location. If you change the location for the SO (or items on the SO), the availability statuses will automatically update.
You can change locations for a single SO or multiple Sales orders in bulk.
Changing the location of a single SO
Navigate to the Sell screen and open on a SO.
On the SO card, click on the Ship from field and select the desired location.
Changing the location of items on a SO
You can choose the location that items are coming from on a line item basis on SOs. When doing so, you can also see the availability of that item based on the location.
Open a sales order. On the Items table, you'll find a Location column. Click on the fields of this column to choose which location the item will come from.
If more than 1 location is chosen for items, the Ship from field will also be updated to "Multiple locations".
Change the Location for sales orders in bulk
Navigate to the Sell screen and select Sales orders from the list.
Click the pencil icon near the top right.
Select a new Ship from location in the popup window.
Note: If you created a Make-to-Order manufacturing order (MO) for any SOs, the Location for those SOs cannot be changed. If the SO uses multiple locations, then the location is locked on a per-item basis. The Location of the Make-to-Order MO is always the same as the Location of the underlying SO (item on the SO).
