Deleting a manufacturing order (MO) removes it from your production schedule and updates related inventory values. Use this feature with care, especially if the MO is already completed.

Important notes

  • You cannot delete MOs in a closed inventory period.

  • Deleting a Done MO will reverse stock movements for finished products and materials (details below).

What happens when you delete an MO

When you delete an MO:

  • Committed materials and subassemblies will be released back to stock (based on the Product Recipe / BOM).

  • Expected quantity of the product being manufactured will be reduced.

  • If the MO was marked Done, Katana will:

    • Decrease the stock for the finished product.

    • Increase the stock for the materials and subassemblies that were originally consumed.

How to delete a single MO

  1. Go to Make screen → Schedule tab.

  2. Locate the MO you want to delete and open its MO card.

  4. Select Delete from the dropdown menu.

  5. In the confirmation popup, click Yes to delete the MO.

The MO will be removed, and the inventory will be updated automatically.

Warning about deleting completed MOs

Deleting a Done MO also reverses its stock movements:

  • Finished product stock decreases

  • Used material stock increases

Use this feature only if you're correcting errors or need to void the MO for valid operational reasons.
