Zapier is usually used to continuously import sales orders (SOs) into Katana. However, it can also perform a one-time import of historical sales orders from Google Sheets.

This method is useful if you need to backfill Katana with existing orders before starting continuous imports.

Steps to perform a one-time import

  1. Prepare an example row

    • Add a single row in your Google Sheet with all the required columns and sample data for a sales order.

    • This row ensures Zapier can detect and configure the trigger during setup.

  2. Create the Zap

  3. Turn on the Zap

    • Once your Zap is configured and enabled, Zapier will start waitign for new rows.

  4. Add your historical sales orders

    • Copy and paste the rest of your SOs into the spreadsheet after the Zap is turned on.

    • Each new row will be imported into Katana as an SO.

  5. Turn off the Zap

    • After all rows have been imported, turn off the Zap to prevent duplicate or unintended imports.
