Katana’s subscription plans include core usage limits that define how much activity (sales orders and revenue) each plan supports. These limits help match the right plan to your business's size and needs.
What are core limits?
Each plan (Standard, Professional, and Professional Plus) has two main limits:
Number of sales orders (SOs) marked as Delivered
Gross merchandise value (GMV) of Delivered SOs
Although plan prices are shown annually, limits are calculated monthly. Katana reviews your activity over the past 3 consecutive months:
If you exceed your plan’s monthly limits for 3 months in a row, your account will be automatically upgraded to the next plan.
If your usage drops, you can downgrade after maintaining the lower plan’s limits for at least 1 month.
Example
You’re on the Standard plan (limit: 500 SOs / $416,667 GMV per month).
Month 1: 300 SOs
Month 2: 150 SOs
Month 3: 700 SOs
You would not be upgraded, because only 1 out of 3 months exceeded the limit.
If in Months 4 and 5 you also exceed 500 SOs, your account will be upgraded to Professional.
Limits for each plan
Plan | Monthly limit (SOs) | Monthly GMV limit | Annual equivalent |
Standard | 500 SOs | $416,667 | 6,000 SOs / $5M |
Professional | 1,500 SOs | $4,166,667 | 18,000 SOs / $50M |
Pro plus | 3,333 SOs | $12,500,000 | 40,000 SOs / $150M |

This helps you see how close you are to your plan’s limits.
What happens if you exceed or downgrade
Exceeding limits: If you go over for 3 months in a row, Katana automatically upgrades your plan.
Downgrading: To move to a lower plan, your usage must stay under that plan’s limits for at least 1 full month.
Key takeaway
Understanding your plan’s SOs and GMV limits ensures you’re always on the right plan. Monitor your usage regularly to avoid unexpected upgrades and to know when you can safely downgrade.
