To help those who work with multiple variants per item and find it fairly complex to build a recipe/BOM(Bill-of-Materials) for each variant, we've streamlined this building process. This also affects how you create product operations with multiple variants.

What has changed

Previously, each item had a single table for the recipe/BOM, and on that table, you could pick and choose how variants use this recipe/BOM. With the update, you can now choose a specific variant and create its recipe/BOM and specific operations.

This also means that you will only see one variant recipe at a time from the Product recipe / BOM tab inside of an item card as well as the Product operations tab.

Selecting a variant:

With this update, we’ve also made improvements to the navigation between product variants and their BOM, each variant row on an item card has a navigation link to open its BOM.

Lastly, on the Product recipes / BOM tab and Product operations tab, you now have the option to copy the BOM/Operations to other variants of this item (as well as copy from).

Note: This screenshot includes displays a multi-level BOM, which will come at a later date.

Important (prior to update)

Before this update, you should avoid leaving any BOMs semi-finished (if any BOM rows are in an error state, they will be removed after this update).
