Katana supports one-way return order sync from Shopify. When enabled, returns created in Shopify are automatically reflected in Katana as return orders.

The following fields and actions are supported in the sync:

  • Add return line items

  • Remove return line items

  • Update quantities

  • Update return reasons

  • Import order note (customer note)

  • Import return location (based on Shopify warehouse or fulfillment)

Katana does not process financial refunds based on Shopify activity. Instead, return statuses in Katana are updated as follows:

Shopify status

Katana result status

Refund only

No action

Restock

Returned

Note: If a return exists in both Katana and Shopify, and the status in Katana is updated to Returned, the status in Shopify will update to Return closed.

How to activate the Shopify return sync

To enable return syncing from Shopify:

  1. Navigate to Integrations and find Shopify.

Integrations button on the top toolbar

  2. Click to configure your connected Shopify store.

  3. In the configure window's 3rd step, Sync settings, check the Synchronize order returns from Shopify.

  4. Click Next and finish the setup wizard.

This activates the one-way sync and starts creating return orders in Katana when restocks are made in Shopify.
