Easily manage your Shopify POS orders in Katana, just like your online orders.

How POS orders are imported

Shopify POS (Point-of-Sale) orders are imported to Katana the same way as orders from your Shopify online store or other Shopify sales channels.

In Shopify POS, you can set the fulfillment status for each order:

  • As a default in your Shopify settings.

  • Or manually, when placing the order in the Shopify POS app.

Case 1: POS orders marked as Fulfilled

  • The order is imported directly to the Done table in Katana’s Sell screen.

  • Stock levels in Katana are reduced immediately for the products on the order.

  • If stock sync is enabled, updated stock levels are pushed back to Shopify automatically.

Case 2: POS orders marked as Unfulfilled

  • The order is imported to Katana as an Open sales order.

  • This works the same way as any other Unfulfilled Shopify order (e.g. online orders).

  • If you enable two-way fulfillment status sync, updating the order in Katana will update it in Shopify — and vice versa.

Key takeaway

Your Shopify POS orders behave the same as Shopify online orders in Katana.

  • Fulfilled = Done immediately.

  • Unfulfilled = Open until processed, with optional two-way sync.
