Credits are used to measure how much your company uses Katana AI. Each time Katana AI is used to work on something for you, it uses some of your company’s monthly credits. This includes answering a question, building a chart or refreshing a dashboard. The more work a request takes, the more credits it uses.
Your whole company shares one allowance. Credits aren’t given per user.
What uses credits
Every chat with Katana AI
Every dashboard refresh (whether you refresh one card or a whole dashboard)
Note: Using your own AI tool with Katana through Katana MCP doesn’t use Katana AI credits, nor does Assisted Import.
Your monthly allowance
Your company gets a monthly allowance of credits. The allowance resets every month. Unused credits don’t carry over to the following month.
Check your usage
The usage meter in Katana AI shows, as a percentage, how much of your company’s monthly allowance has been used. It also shows when the allowance resets.
At 80%, the meter turns amber.
At 100%, the meter turns red.
If you run out of credits
If your company exhausts its full allowance, Katana will display a message saying the allowance has been used and provide a date for when it will reset.
When you're out of credits, you can’t send new messages or refresh dashboards. Existing chats and dashboards stay open and viewable.
Getting more credits
Account Owner: select Increase limit and book a call with your Customer Success Manager.
Another user: select Increase limit to send your account Owner a request.
You can ask for more credits once a month.
