ChatGPT is an advanced artificial intelligence chatbot developed by OpenAI. It uses deep learning algorithms to process natural language and generate human-like text responses.
Before you start
To connect Katana to ChatGPT, you'll first need:
A paid ChatGPT plan (Plus, Pro, Team, or Enterprise) — the free plan can't add custom apps.
Your Katana account login. No API key or token necessary.
You'll enable Developer mode — ChatGPT requires it for any custom app, and shows a caution notice.
Steps to connect
In ChatGPT, open Settings → Apps → Advanced settings and toggle Developer mode on.
Click Create app. Name it
Katana, pastehttps://mcp.katanamrp.comas the server URL, leave Authentication as the default, tick "I understand and want to continue", and click Create.A sign-in page opens. Sign in to Katana, approve the connection, and you'll be brought back to ChatGPT.
Open a new chat and select Katana from the apps menu — ChatGPT needs the app enabled per chat.
You'll know it worked if Katana shows in your apps list as Connected.
Try your first prompt: "Show me…”
Troubleshooting
I can't find the Developer mode toggle — it only appears on paid plans, under Settings → Apps → Advanced settings.
"Create app" doesn't appear after enabling Developer mode — refresh the page; if needed, toggle Developer mode off and on again.
Katana shows in my apps but ChatGPT won't use the tools — in a new chat, select Katana from the apps menu before sending your message.
Recommendations:
Ask ChatGPT to show you what it'll change before applying anything, and verify important numbers in Katana.
To disconnect: Settings → Apps → Katana → Delete. That revokes access immediately.
