When you are using any Shopify add-ons for providing additional product customization options for your customers (e.g. Bold Product Options, Infinite Options), Shopify will show them as line item properties on sales orders. Line item properties are also imported to Katana.

Typically, those add-ons and line item properties in Shopify are used by companies providing make-to-order products with customization possibilities (e.g. engraving), or when they have more product variants than the Shopify variant configuration allows (i.e. more than a 100 variants).

The line item properties for products on Shopify sales orders are displayed as follows:

When a sales order is synced from Shopify to Katana, the custom label is also displayed for the item on a Katana Sales order (SO):

This ensures that all the relevant information about the product on the order is visible in Katana when you start to make the product and fulfill the order.

When you choose to make this product using Katana's "Make to Order" functionality, these labels are also displayed on the Manufacturing order (MO):

Important notes

  • Line item properties are attached to the underlying product both in Shopify and Katana. New products or variants will NOT be created as a result.
