Use Katana’s PDF Editor to add your company logo or custom images to your print templates for a more professional, branded look.


Why add a logo?

Adding your company logo to PDF documents helps maintain brand consistency and provides a polished experience when sharing printouts with customers or vendors.


Step-by-Step: Add a logo in the PDF Editor

Open the PDF Editor


Add the image component

  • In the PDF Editor, locate the Image component in the left toolbar.

  • Drag it onto your template where you’d like the logo to appear.

  • Resize the image box as needed to fit your layout.


Choose how to add your image

You have 3 options for inserting an image:

  • Image URL (Recommended for logos)

    • Paste a publicly accessible image link into the Value field.

    • Great for cloud-hosted logo files.

  • Insert Data Field

    • Only relevant for dynamic or contextual images based on Katana data.

    • Not typically used for static logos.

  • Upload from local file (Also recommended for logos)

    • Click to select a file directly from your computer.

    • Works best for static images stored locally.


Finalize your design

  • Make sure the image fits your layout and doesn't overlap other components.

  • Preview your design: Ctrl/Cmd + P

  • Save your template: Ctrl/Cmd + S

Tips for best results

  • Use .PNG format for logos — preferably with a transparent background.

  • Ensure the image is high resolution to avoid blurriness on the PDF.

  • Maintain white space around the logo so it doesn’t appear cramped.
