Interested in setting up a connection between Katana and eBay? You can now do so with the help of Extensiv Integration Manager to:

  • Retrieve sales orders and related customer address data from eBay to Katana

  • Auto-create missing products from eBay to Katana

  • Sync updated inventory levels from Katana to eBay

Extensiv Integration Manager is specifically tailored to integrate solutions for order management. By connecting Katana to eBay's seller central, Extensiv helps these separate systems work together seamlessly.

Setting up an integration between eBay and Katana

Connecting Extensiv to Katana is easy and takes only a few minutes. Create Extensiv account with a free trial and log in to get started. Once you're done, go ahead and connect to Katana — here is a step-by-step guide.

Once a Extensiv integration has been established, head to Extensiv and select Carts from the menu on the left. Next, click New Setup and find eBay from the list of available carts and choose the appropriate eBay Marketplace.

Note: Each eBay Marketplace requires separate Carts connections.

  1. In the New Ebay Setup screen, click the Grant Us API Access button under API Information. Get more detailed instructions here.

    • A new window will open containing the eBay log-in screen. Log in and follow the instructions to authorize Extensiv to act on behalf of your eBay account.

    • When done, return to the Extensiv window and it will let you know if the authorization was successful.

  2. Adjust the settings in your Ebay Cart Setup to match your preferences:

    • Payment status — Select to pull orders in a specific status

    • Item SKU Field — Indicates which field Extensiv uses for the item's SKU. The SKU or product code field is required for Extensiv to match items in the eBay shopping cart and Katana. Item SKUs will fall back to eBay Internal ID if not set up.

    • Translate item’s code — Extensiv Integration Manager can translate item codes to aliases before sending them to Katana. The default value of WMS Master SKU will automatically search through item aliases and, if a match is found, convert items to the WMS/Katana primary SKU before sending the order to your Katana account. Read more about product aliases here.

    • Ebay Product Sync Options — If Sync Product Data is marked Yes, then a new block expands with options to set up product sync parameters from Katana to eBay. For SKUs that are present in both Katana and eBay, Extensiv can sync inventory levels from Katana to eBay

Tip: Customize the integration and adjust fields according to your preference. To read more about each setting just hover the mouse over to ? icon

  3. As the last step of settings configuration, review Katana WMS Information block

    • Warehouse — Choose Katana as the location where orders will be loaded into

    • Auto Create Missing Katana Products — If you selected Yes, note that Extensiv is unable to determine variant items from order data, so any products added to Katana will be added as new products, not variants

    • Create Customer Addresses — If Extensiv creates a new customer in Katana, choose whether order processing billing and shipping information should be included in the customer profile.

  4. Verify that the connection works by clicking Test at the bottom of the page. If the test is successful, click OK to save your changes.

  5. Ta-da 💃 — Your setup for importing sales orders to Katana and updating inventory levels from eBay is ready.

NOTE: Extensiv to Katana integrations do not support Sales order fulfillment status updates, Shipping tracking, or Returns.

TIP 🍀 If you need any help with the setup or customizing the workflow, the Extensiv team is happy to help. Contact them through Support portal.
