Editing storage bins in Katana helps you keep warehouse inventory data up to date and ensures products are stored in the right places. Since bins are location-specific, any changes you make apply only to the selected location.

How to edit a storage bin

  1. Go to Settings > Locations > Storage bins.

  2. Click the arrow to expand the location where the bin is stored.

  3. Find the bin you want to edit in the table.

  4. Click the Storage bin name and enter the new name.

The updated name will automatically apply wherever the bin is used (e.g., item cards, stock movements, and warehouse printouts).

Additional notes

  • You can also update storage bins using import templates (e.g., Update existing products or Update existing materials).

  • Renaming a bin does not remove or unlink items currently assigned to it.

  • Each item variant can only have one default bin per location.
