Exporting sales orders (SOs) from Katana allows you to analyze sales data at the product level by saving information in .xlsx or .csv formats. This is particularly useful for detailed reporting and insights into your sales performance.

Steps to export sales orders

  1. Navigate to the Sell screen:

    • From the main top toolbar, click on the Sell tab.

  2. Select the appropriate table:

    • Choose either the Open or Done table, depending on which SOs you want to export.

  3. Click the export button:

Export button found on the sell screen

    • Locate the Export button near the top corner of the order list.

    • Clicking this button will export all orders currently displayed in the selected table.

Important notes

  • Data structure:

    • Each row in the exported file represents a single order line, not an entire SO.

    • If an SO contains multiple line items, each will appear as a separate row in the export.

  • Totals may differ:

    • The totals in the exported file may differ from those shown in Katana's interface.

    • This discrepancy arises because exports are done at the product level, while Katana's list views are based on complete SO cards.

Utilizing exported data

With the exported SO data, you can:

  • Perform detailed product-level sales analysis.

  • Create custom reports to track sales performance over time.

  • Integrate with business intelligence tools for advanced analytics.
