Export options
You can export SO data from two main areas in Katana:
1. Export from Insights dashboards
For quick custom analysis, use the download button available on each element within Insights.
Download charts and tables into a file for use in Excel or BI tools.
Customize your reports by applying filters in Insights before exporting.
2. Exporting open sales orders
The Open SO table includes all sales orders that have not yet been delivered.
Columns include: Order #, Customer, Total amount, and statuses for Sales items, Ingredients, Production, and Delivery.
Apply filters to focus your export:
Customer → See open SOs for a specific customer.
Delivery deadline → Find SOs due by next week.
Product availability = Not available → Identify SOs still waiting on manufacturing.
3. Exporting completed sales orders (past sales, costs, and profit)
The Done SO table includes all delivered or packed SOs. Each SO is automatically assigned a Picked date and a Cost of goods sold (COGS) amount when its Delivery status changes.
You can filter by:
Picked date → View sales volume, COGS, or profit for a specific period.
Customer → View sales and profit for a particular customer.
Multiple filters → Combine filters (e.g., Customer + Picked date) to analyze customer profitability in a given timeframe.
Definitions:
COGS = Total cost of products sold, based on the average cost of items in stock when the SO was delivered.
Average cost = Manufacturing cost calculated from the product recipe and production operations.
Export for further analysis
Exported files include data at the SO line level (not just order summary). This enables:
Product-level sales reporting.
Margin analysis by SKU or category.
More detailed comparisons across customers and periods.
For advanced reporting, you can also use integrations:
Easy Insight → Pre-built and customizable visual dashboards.
SyncHub → Access Katana’s data model and build reports with BI tools (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau, Excel).
