Disabling batch tracking for an item in Katana will permanently delete all related batch data, including batch numbers, barcodes, and expiration dates across all variants of that item.

Important warning

All batch tracking information will be permanently deleted.
This includes:

  • All batch numbers

  • Expiry dates and barcodes

  • History of stock movements related to batches

This applies to all variants of the item.

To avoid losing valuable data, we strongly recommend exporting historical batch data before proceeding.

You can disable batch tracking at the item level:

  1. Navigate to the Items screen.

  2. Select the item (product or material).

  3. On the item card, under Product tracking, select No tracking.

Once disabled:

  • The item will no longer require batch selection in future stock movements.

  • All previous batch tracking data will be deleted and cannot be recovered.

Summary

Disabling batch tracking is a permanent action and should only be done after exporting all necessary historical data for auditing, compliance, or internal record-keeping.
