Editing and deleting categories help keep your inventory organized and current. You can update category names and descriptions or remove unnecessary categories to streamline inventory management. Keeping categories up-to-date is crucial for efficient workflow and inventory control.
On product or material cards you can select existing categories or create new ones, but you can't edit or delete categories.
Edit or delete a category
Head to the Settings screen.
Click on Categories in the left-hand menu.
To edit categories, click on the existing category name and edit the text field. Changes will be automatically applied to all products and materials using this category.
To delete a category, click on the trash bin icon next to a specific category. If a deleted category is used by a product or material, the category field for those items will now be empty.
To create a new category, click on + Add new row and enter a category name. This category is added to the category drop-down menu on item cards.
