Deleting storage bins in Katana helps you remove unused or outdated inventory locations, keeping your warehouse layout clean and organized. This ensures that only active bins are used for tracking product placements and stock movements.

Important notes before deleting

  • Once a bin is deleted, it is permanently removed and cannot be restored.

  • If the bin is currently assigned as a default bin for an item variant, update the item card to use another bin first.

  • Deleting a bin does not remove any historical stock movement records. Those records will remain, but the deleted bin will no longer be available for future use.

Steps to delete a storage bin

  1. Go to Settings > Locations > Storage bins.

  2. Expand the location where the bin is stored.

  3. In the table, click the trash bin icon next to the storage bin you want to remove.

  4. In the confirmation dialog, click Delete to finalize.

The bin will now be removed from your Katana account.
