To change the Shopify connection settings after you have completed the initial connection to Katana, navigate to Settings screen > Integrations and click Reconfigure next to the Shopify integration logo.

You can change all settings that you selected during the initial connection of Katana and Shopify, including:

  • Sync all Shopify products to Katana.

  • Sync all Shopify customers and addresses to Katana.

  • Select a default tax rate used to define Default sales prices for products in Katana.

  • Whether to import stock levels from Shopify to Katana.

Caution: We suggest opting out of importing stock levels during reconfiguration in most cases to avoid double importing stock levels to Katana. This would create a new Stock adjustment in Katana, adjusting the In stock quantities for products in Katana by adding any inventory quantities from Shopify quantities in Katana.

  • Whether to import custom items on Sales orders (SO) to Katana.

  • Whether to sync order changes from Shopify to Katana.

  • Whether to sync order fulfillment statuses between Katana and Shopify.

  • In addition, Katana will trigger an update on Shopify store settings (Shopify store currency, Shopify default location, Tax inclusion/exclusion) in Katana once the reconfiguration is complete.

TIP: Resyncing products and customers

Going through the configuration wizard again is a good way of retriggering syncs for products and customers. If you have created products or customers in Shopify that might not have been already synced to Katana (as they have not yet appeared on any synced Sales orders), then complete the wizard again to resync all missing products and customers and their data.

Shopify order changes

You can choose to sync Shopify order changes to Katana. If you do so, then Shopify SO and SO line item changes done in Shopify (refund, cancel, delete, archive, adjust quantity) are synced to Katana. Shopify returns are not synced to Katana.

What happens if you change Shopify order connection configuration settings?

  • Order changes (refund, cancel, delete, archive, adjust quantity) that were done before the order changes sync was switched on are not synced to Katana. Only changes that are made after the sync is switched on are synced to Katana.

  • Custom items are not added to already existing Sales orders in Katana if you initially in the integration configuration selected not to import custom items from Shopify.

  • Order fulfillment states are updated between Katana and Shopify only at the times the corresponding configuration is switched on. If the order fulfillment state was changed before the state sync was switched on it is not synced.
