In some production workflows, products may need to be moved from the shop floor before the entire manufacturing order (MO) is complete. The Shop Floor App allows operators to partially complete MOs—recording finished quantities, assigning serial numbers, and ensuring accurate inventory tracking without waiting for all steps to be finished.
When to use partial MO completion
Use partial completion if:
Some units are ready before others.
You need to transfer completed items before the final MO completion.
You want to track progress incrementally for large orders.
How to partially complete a MO
Open the MO in the Shop Floor App.
Navigate to the last task in the operation list. This is typically the final step required for the MO.
Check task status.
If the task is marked In Progress, tap the ⋮ Menu button on the right.
Select “Complete partially.”
Enter the finished quantity.
Assign serial numbers (if applicable).
If the product requires serial tracking, you must assign a unique serial number for each completed unit before continuing.
Click Finish.
The partial quantity is recorded against the MO.
The MO remains open for remaining work.
What happens next?
The reported quantity is added to your stock.
The MO status stays Open until all tasks are finished or the full quantity is produced.
You can repeat the partial completion process multiple times until the MO is complete.
Do you need to complete the full MO later? Just finish the remaining tasks as usual, and the system will update the MO automatically.
