Katana’s Shop Floor App enables operators to report serial numbers during manufacturing tasks, ensuring precise tracking of each product through the production process. Operators can scan or manually enter serial numbers for items they handle, providing real-time updates and maintaining detailed inventory records.
When is this required?
If a manufacturing order (MO) is created for a product with Serial Number Tracking enabled, an additional step is added in the Shop Floor App. Operators must report serial numbers when partially or fully completing the last task of the MO.
Reporting serial numbers when finishing the last MO task
Navigate to the last task of the MO in the Shop Floor App.
Click on the Finish button.
A prompt will appear to select or enter the serial numbers for the products being completed.
After entering the serial numbers, confirm to complete the task.
Reporting serial numbers when partially completing an MO
Navigate to the last task of the MO in the Shop Floor App.
Click the three-dot menu button.
Select Complete partially.
Enter the quantity of products completed.
A prompt will appear to select or enter the serial numbers for the completed products.
You can use the Select All option to auto-select serial numbers based on the order they appear for the completed quantity.
Confirm to complete the partial task.
Important notes
The MO can still be fully or partially completed even if there is a mismatch between the quantity of available serial numbers and the completed quantity of products.
In such cases, a notification in Katana's main UI will prompt you to correct these situations by adding the missing serial numbers to the products.
