In Katana, batch tracking for subassemblies ensures precise inventory management and traceability. You can enable batch tracking for products used in subassemblies so you can select from specific batches during manufacturing. This feature enhances control over ingredient usage and quality, providing detailed oversight throughout the production process.

Subassemblies are no different than from products in Katana, in that you can switch batch tracking ON for a product that is used as a subassembly.

Track batch information for ingredients used in manufacturing so that when you complete a manufacturing order for a product that includes a batch-trackable product as an ingredient (subassembly), you need to select the subassembly from a specific existing batch. This works in the same way as selecting any other ingredients (e.g. materials) from batches when completing manufacturing orders.
