The Shop Floor App is designed for flexibility, allowing operators to access it from a range of devices. While functionality is consistent across platforms, the user interface is optimized for mobile screens, particularly tablets.

Web-based, not a mobile app

Note: The Shop Floor App is not a native Android or iOS app.
It’s a web-based application that runs in any supported browser.

Operators can log in directly at: floor.katanasfc.com

Device recommendations

For the best experience, we suggest the following:

Best option: Tablets

  • Ideal for operators due to screen size and mobility

  • Designed to fit standard tablet resolutions

  • Easy to mount at workstations

Also supported:

  • Mobile phones (with camera)

    • Great for portability and scanning

  • Laptops/desktops (with camera)

    • Suitable for larger displays or fixed setups

Camera requirement

All devices used should have a working camera to scan:

  • QR codes for operator login

  • Barcodes for ingredients and serial/batch tracking

Supported browsers

The app is compatible with all major modern browsers:

  • Chrome

  • Firefox

  • Safari

  • Edge

Tip: Keep browsers up to date for the best performance.

Optional tips

  • Stable internet improves reliability during login and task updates.

  • If using older hardware, test barcode scanning performance before deployment.

  • You can bookmark the login URL on home screens for quick access (e.g. “Add to Home Screen” on mobile).
