Understand how task statuses sync between the Shop Floor Control App and the main Katana platform, so that both operators and managers stay aligned throughout production.

Overview

When a shop floor operator is assigned to a task (called an Operation within a Manufacturing Order), the task becomes visible in the Shop Floor App.

Any status updates made by the operator in the Shop Floor App are instantly reflected in Katana’s main platform — and vice versa.

However, some statuses appear differently in each interface. Below is a breakdown of how statuses correlate between the Shop Floor App and the Katana website.

Notes

Not started

Pause / Finish buttons appear

In progress

Quit or Resume options are shown (if paused)

In progress

The website doesn't show a separate "paused" status.

Quit is clicked (after pausing)

Finish is clicked

Key notes

  • Tasks cannot be paused from the Katana website — only from the Shop Floor App.

  • Once a task is Finished, it no longer appears in the operator’s list in the app.

  • The status changes are always synced in real time between both platforms.
