This article explores how task statuses are synchronized between Katana's Shop Floor App and the main Katana platforms. It details how actions in one app affect task statuses in the other, providing clarity on workflow continuity for operators and managers.
All tasks (called Operations in an open Manufacturing order) which have a shop floor operator assigned will appear in the Shop Floor App.
If operators update task statuses in the app, they automatically update in the Katana platform (and vice versa).
Not all statuses are reflected in the same way in both the app and main platform. Here's how statuses are related between the Katana website and Shop Floor App:
Shop Floor App | Katana website |
Start button displays if a task hasn't been begun | Status is Not started
Pause / Finish displays if the task is in progress | Status is In progress
Quit / Resume is displayed if the task is "paused" | In progress is displayed. Tasks can't be paused from the main platform.
If a task has been Quit, The task reverts back to the Not started status | Status is Not started
If a task is Finished it will disappear from the list. | Status is Done
