Understand how task statuses sync between the Shop Floor Control App and the main Katana platform, so that both operators and managers stay aligned throughout production.
Overview
When a shop floor operator is assigned to a task (called an Operation within a Manufacturing Order), the task becomes visible in the Shop Floor App.
Any status updates made by the operator in the Shop Floor App are instantly reflected in Katana’s main platform — and vice versa.
However, some statuses appear differently in each interface. Below is a breakdown of how statuses correlate between the Shop Floor App and the Katana website.
Status mapping table
Action / Display in Shop Floor App | Status in Katana Website | Notes |
Start button is visible | Not started | Task has not been started yet. |
Pause / Finish buttons appear | In progress | Task is being worked on. |
Quit or Resume options are shown (if paused) | In progress
| The website doesn't show a separate "paused" status. |
Quit is clicked (after pausing) | Not started | Resets the task’s progress. |
Finish is clicked | Done | Task is completed and disappears from the Shop Floor App task list. |
Key notes
Tasks cannot be paused from the Katana website — only from the Shop Floor App.
Once a task is Finished, it no longer appears in the operator’s list in the app.
The status changes are always synced in real time between both platforms.
