You can adjust stock for serial number trackable items, adding or removing serial numbers as needed through a stock adjustment, ensuring accurate inventory records and traceability. This involves includes creating adjustments, entering or removing serial numbers, and maintaining detailed logs for precise inventory management.
Using the stock adjustment feature allows you to add serial numbers to historical products or even remove them from inventory at any given time.
Removing serial numbers from stock
These 7 steps help you to remove serial numbers from stock.
First, create a stock adjustment.
In the stock adjustment, add an item with serial number tracking enabled and click on the Adjustment +/- field to open a dropdown. Select the Remove option.
Enter the serial numbers you want to remove from stock and click Done.
Note: On negative stock adjustments, you can only remove serial numbers that are currently available in stock.To add more serial numbers to the same adjustment, click on the Adjustment +/- field and then click + Enter serial numbers in the window.
To remove previous numbers, use the Trash bin icon associated with number.
Once the changes have been completed, close the window by clicking Done.
To view the full list of removed serial numbers, click the down arrow on the item field.
Adding serial numbers to stock inventory
Click on an Adjustment +/- field to open a dropdown menu and select Add to open the modal.
Enter the serial numbers that you want to add to stock and click the Done.
Note: For positive stock adjustments, you can add serial numbers the same way as you'd add them to a Manufacturing order.
If you want to include additional serial numbers to the same adjustment, click on the Adjustment field and select the + Enter serial numbers link in the window.
If you want to remove previous numbers, use the Trash bin button.
To view the full list of added serial numbers, click the arrow on the item field.
