Transferring batch-trackable stock between locations involves selecting existing batches for the transferred items. Create a stock transfer, define quantities, and assign batch numbers to ensure accurate tracking.
If you've got more than one Location on your Katana account, you can choose to transfer stock from one location to another.
If you're adding batch trackable items to a stock transfer, you'll need to define a batch number for the transferred quantity.
With a stock transfer, you can't create new batches, but you can transfer items from existing batches.
A batch can exist at multiple Locations. For example, you can have 5 pcs of "Product A", batch "01-234" at Location 1, and 6 pcs of the same product and the same batch at Location 2.
To transfer batch-trackable stock between locations
Create a stock transfer and add a batch-trackable item to the transfer.
Click on the Quantity field, and a popup window will open where you can enter batch tracking information.
Enter the Quantity to transfer (has to be a positive number).
Then assign a Batch # for the transferred quantity (you can only select existing batches).
The Expiration date field will be filled if the batch has an existing expiration date. If no expiration date exists, enter a date or leave it empty.
Add additional rows in the window if you want to transfer items from other batches of the same item.
Click Confirm.
The Quantity for the stock transfer row is the sum of all quantities entered in the previous Batch tracking info window. Detailed information about transferred batches is displayed below the row.
You can edit batch tracking info for an existing transfer row by clicking on the Quantity field.
