In Katana, managing inventory for items tracked by serial numbers requires precise adjustments to maintain accurate records and traceability. This guide outlines how to add or remove serial-numbered items through stock adjustments.
Adding serial numbers to stock
Navigate to Stock screen β Stock adjustments tab.
Click + Stock adjustment to create a new adjustment.
Select the relevant Location and set the Adjustment date.
Add the item with serial number tracking enabled.
In the Adjustment +/- field, select Add.
Enter the serial numbers you wish to add.
You can input them manually or paste from a spreadsheet.
Each serial number must be unique and adhere to Katana's formatting rules.
Click Done to save the serial numbers.
If you want to include additional serial numbers to the same adjustment, click on the Adjustment field and select the + Enter serial numbers link in the window.
Repeat the process for additional items or serial numbers as needed.
To view the full list of added serial numbers, click the arrow on the item field.
Removing serial numbers from stock
Navigate to Stock screen β Stock adjustments tab.
Click + Stock adjustment to create a new adjustment.
Select the relevant Location and set the Adjustment date.
Add an item with serial number tracking enabled.
In the Adjustment +/- column, select Remove.
Enter the serial numbers you wish to remove.
Only serial numbers currently in stock can be removed.
Click Done to save the changes.
To add more serial numbers to the same adjustment, click on the Adjustment +/- field and then click + Enter serial numbers in the window.
Repeat the process for additional items or serial numbers as needed.
To view the full list of removed serial numbers, click the down arrow on the item field.
Notes
Each serial number adjustment must be handled individually; bulk adjustments are not supported.
Ensure that serial numbers are entered accurately to maintain inventory integrity.
All adjustments are recorded in the item's history for traceability.
