Transfer account ownership in Katana when responsibilities shift within your business. The account Owner has full control over subscription, billing, and team management, so assigning the right person is important.
Requirements
Only the current account Owner can transfer ownership.
The new Owner must already be a team member in your Katana account.
Steps to change account ownership
Log in using the current Owner’s credentials.
Click in the top-right corner and select Team from the drop-down menu.
Locate the current Owner’s name in the team list.
Click the 3-dots menu next to their name.
Select Transfer ownership.
In the pop-up, choose the new Owner from your team members.
Confirm the transfer by clicking Change owner.
What happens after the transfer
The previous Owner is changed to a User role, with all default and admin permissions.
The selected team member becomes the new Owner of the account.
The billing email address is automatically updated to the new Owner’s email.
