Note: This Warehouse app is part of the Warehouse Management add-on, which covers all of your business’s main warehouse management needs. The add-on is included in Professional and Professional Plus plans. Those on a Standard plan can purchase this functionality.

In Katana, you can add warehouse operators to give specific team members access to manage inventory tasks and streamline warehouse operations. By assigning this role, you can ensure that operators have the necessary permissions to handle stock movements, fulfill orders, and maintain accurate inventory records.

Those who use the Warehouse App are called Warehouse operators and they can be invited to your Katana account from Katana's main website.

Only an account owner or a user with the permission Manage users and permission enabled can invite Warehouse operators. This person typically set up the devices for Warehouse operators.

Each Warehouse operator has a dedicated account and login for the Warehouse App. Warehouse operator accounts are not linked to any certain mobile devices, you can log in to the same Warehouse operator account with any device (simultaneous sessions from multiple devices aren't possible).

Note: We’re constantly working to improve this feature and appreciate any feedback. Feel free to book a call with our team to share your thoughts on using the Warehouse App.

6-digit login code - This code is used by the Warehouse operator to log into the app. Only numbers are allowed.

Setting up a warehouse operator device is done by scanning a unique QR code with the mobile device. Warehouse operator accounts are not connected to an email address, only a QR code.

  7. Take your mobile device and scan the QR code.

Tip: If you want to set up devices remotely, save the QR code as an image and send it to the Warehouse operator.

  9. The 6-digit login code for this Warehouse operator account is displayed on the next screen.

Enter the code to your mobile device on click "Log in" on the device.

    Click Next.

  10. The QR and login code need to be used every time a Warehouse operator logs in.

On the Katana account, you can print the QR Code on the next screen to save it for future logins. We recommend printing out or saving the QR Code as an image and sharing it with a Warehouse operator. The Warehouse operator needs to have it readily available each time they log in to their account (e.g. place it next to the workstation or share the printout with the employee).

When setting up the account for the first time, you are shown the QR code and login code on the next screen on the mobile device. Click Continue to the app to finish the account setup.
