Control who can create, edit, and delete product BOMs (recipes) and operations to protect your manufacturing data.
What this permission does
The Manage BOMs/Operations permission determines who can manage a product’s bill of materials (BOM) and operations. Restricting this permission ensures only authorized team members can update recipes and workflows, preventing accidental or unauthorized changes to your manufacturing processes.
What users with this permission can do
Bills of Materials (BOMs / Recipes):
Add BOM/recipe rows to a product.
Edit existing BOM/recipe rows.
Delete BOM/recipe rows.
Operations:
Add operations to a product.
Edit operations for a product.
Delete operations from a product.
Manage operations from the Settings screen.
Default behavior
The account Owner always has this permission.
Regular Users have it enabled by default, but it can be disabled.
How to enable or disable this permission
When inviting a new user
Invite the user.
Select Edit under default permissions.
Go to the Workflows tab.
Check or uncheck Manage BOMs/Operations.
For existing users
Click your profile (top right) → Team.
Select the user’s name.
Go to the Workflows tab.
Check or uncheck Manage BOMs/Operations.
