Katana's warehouse app offers a scanning feature that allows users to quickly scan barcodes for efficient inventory management. This feature simplifies stock movements, order fulfillment, and inventory tracking by instantly updating records through barcode scanning.

Warehouse operators can increase their speed and accuracy when working with barcodes and scanners by scanning. Katana's warehouse app supports both infrared scanners (internal and external) and cameras.

How to scan using the warehouse app

  • Pick-and-pack tasks - only registered and batch barcodes can be scanned

  • Receiving tasks - operators can scan supplier barcodes

Scanning with an infrared scanner

  1. Open and start a task.

  2. Scan the item barcode

  3. Item is recognized and detailed view is opened

    1. Add batch (if applicable)

  4. Scan the barcode until the maximum quantity is reached

  5. Scan next item.

Note: When you're receiving, barcodes can be scanned in a mixed order so that you don’t have to return to the task list to scan the next item.

Scanning with mobile camera

  1. Open and start a task

  2. Tap on the camera icon

  3. Scan the item barcode

  4. Item is recognized and detailed view is opened

    1. Add batch (if applicable)

  5. Add the quantity

  6. Return to the list

  7. Scan the next item
