Setting up or logging into a Shop Floor Operator account in Katana is usually simple, but a few issues can come up. Here's how to troubleshoot the most common problems to get operators connected quickly.

Issue: Lost QR code or 6-digit login code

Problem: You can't find the QR code or login code for the operator account.

Solution:
Only the Katana account owner (or someone with the Manage users and permissions permission) can access and share these credentials.

Issue: QR code won’t scan

Problem: Scanning the QR code with a mobile device doesn't work.

Checklist to fix the issue:

  • Make sure the device has a camera and that the browser has camera access.

  • Ensure there’s enough lighting and no shadows on the QR code.

  • Clean your camera lens and hold the device steady.

  • Lay the printed QR code on a plain, level surface.

  • Do not tilt your phone.

  • Check your internet connection—it must be active and stable.

If scanning still doesn’t work, try accessing https://floor.katanasfc.com/login directly and entering the login code manually.

Issue: "Login failed" after entering 6-digit code

Problem: After scanning the QR code and entering the login code, the error message "Login failed" appears.

Solution:

  • Double-check the 6-digit login code—it may have been entered incorrectly.

  • Try again slowly.

  • If it still fails, contact your Katana account owner to verify the code.

Tip for admins

If you're setting up devices remotely, you can save the QR code as an image and send it to the operator for setup.
