The Adobe Commerce (previously Magento) integration allows you to connect your online store to Katana, saving time on updating both systems.

Connect Adobe Commerce (powered by Magento) version 2.X to Katana via Extensiv Integration Manager and automate the following workflows:

  • Send sales orders from Magento 2 to Katana

  • Sync sales order fulfillment from Katana to Magento 2

  • Push inventory levels from Katana to Magento 2

To get started, you’ll first need to connect to Extensiv. If you’re new to the Extensiv platform, check out our detailed guide for connecting it to Katana. Once the Integration Manager is ready, you can connect Katana with Adobe Commerce.

How it works

In Extensiv, the order destination is a Warehouse Management System (WMS). Authorize Katana as a WMS to act as a source of truth for inventory in this integration.

Magento 2 is set as a Cart (order source). Extensiv will import sales orders with related info about products and customers from Magento 2 to Katana. Extensiv also passes available inventory levels from Katana to Magento 2.

When Tracking info is added to a Katana sales order (SO), and the order is marked as Packed or Delivered, it will pass this fulfillment update to your store in Magento 2. When you ship the order in Katana, Extensiv pushes tracking info and status updates to Magento 2.

NOTE: Adding Tracking info to a Katana SO is required for SO fulfillment sync to work.

NOTE: The latest version of Adobe Commerce is Magento 2, for other versions, refer to this guide. To find out your version, log into the admin panel and scroll to the bottom.

Setting up the Magento2 integration

  1. Log in to Extensiv or create an account.

  2. Connect Extensiv to Katana as WMS (order destination).

  3. Once Katana is connected to Extensiv, head to Extensiv and select Carts from the left-side menu > New Setup > find Magento2 from the list of available carts.

  4. In the New Magento2 Setup screen, click Grant Us API Access.

    • You'll be redirected to your Adobe Commerce (Magento 2) Admin page, where you will need to log in to your account

    • Extensiv Integration Manager needs to be set up as a New Integration on the Adobe Commerce side

    • Confirm the connection and then return to the original Extensiv page, where you will be informed if the connection was successful

    1. Adjust the settings in your Cart Setup to match your preferences:

Relevant fields for syncing Sales orders and inventory updates:

      • Send Magento Confirmation Email when the order is marked as shipped.

      • Sync Inventory For Product Type:* - to save time, choose Extensiv to sync inventory levels to Magento 2 (Adobe Commerce) for all product types.

      • Customize the integration and adjust fields according to your business needs. To read more about each setting, hover over the ? Icon

    2. In the section of General Order Options:

      • Add the Earliest Order Date from when orders need to be pulled to Katana

      • Translate Item Code defines item SKU that will be synced from Cart to Katana (read more about Product Aliases in Extensiv here)

    3. In General Inventory Options:

      • Set up the Minimum Inventory Level to prevent overselling

      • If the Minimum inventory level setting is set to 0, then Extensiv passes the available levels from Katana to Magento 2

      • If the minimum inventory level is set to 5 (for example), if the inventory level in Katana is more than 5, Extensiv passes the true available inventory to Magento 2. If it's 5 or fewer, Extensiv tells the cart that the item has 0 inventory available

      • Push Inventory Using Alias (read more about Product Aliases in Extensiv)

      • Select the Katana warehouse Location for inventory sync

    4. Adjust Katana WMS information for Order status and Warehouse Location where orders will be loaded in Katana.

      • Auto Create Missing Katana Products allows Extensiv to create new products in Katana when SKU matches are not found

      • Any products added to Katana will be added as new products, not variants

      • By default, this setting is set to “No,” meaning that Extensiv declines any order containing items whose SKUs are not present in Katana. This prevents duplicate products if your sales channels use a different SKU than exists already in Katana

      • Create Customer Addresses: if Extensiv creates a new customer in Katana, choose whether order processing billing and shipping information should be included in the customer profile

  5. Click Test at the bottom of the page to verify that the connection works. If the test is successful, click OK to save changes.

NOTE: Partial Fulfilment and Returns are not supported

You should be all set to import SOs to Katana, sync tracking information from Katana, and update inventory levels in Magento 2.

For any help with the setup or customization of the workflow, contact Extensiv's team through their Support portal.
